Other Positions Available:

  • Community Angels especially in CO and NM - We need volunteers who would like to help others following disasters. YOU can volunteer from home using your computer to search the Internet, enter data on the recent CO/NM flood situation, and make phone calls when needed. Make contacts with your community to list resources such as the Disaster Recovery Centers, local Salvation Army, church clothes closets, or other groups, as well as other announcements. You can keep us informed with reports from local news, updating us on local power outages, curfews in the area, and where to find shelters, food or cleanup supplies. Work on site or from home! Community Angels report to the Resource Director. You could also start by collecting in-kind donations (such as coats, blankets, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, towels, bleach, any freebies or sample sizes as well) locally; then help to get those supplies to local disaster survivors.
  • Community Coordinators - Coordinate and enhance the efforts of Community Angel volunteers in your own community following a disaster such as the current CO & NM floods. Work with Community Angels to identify helpful agencies and resources in the community! OR Working from home, you can check the phone book and the internet and list places like distribution sites for water, food, and ice; shelters, blue roofs (tarps), medical care, and other resources during crises such as hurricanes. Help scope out needs on forums, googling small town web sites, etc., helping Katrina's Angels to locate those communities that become forgotten pockets of need following disasters like this CO flood. Perhaps be willing to pass out items in disaster areas if the disaster has happened close to home.
  • Fund Raising Angels - Help Katrina's Angels to help the survivors of natural disasters in the U.S. Among those we help are uninsured families, the elderly, and the disabled who have fallen through the cracks. Right now, we are trying to raise money to help CO and NM flooding survivors. Help us by conducting a gift card drive, car wash, or new underwear/new sox or shampoo/toothpaste/sanitizer drive. We are willing to listen to your suggestions. Experience with fund raisers is helpful, but not necessary. We like to say we give people a hand up, not just a handout. Holding a local fund raiser for Katrina's Angels, Inc. would be great! Get a group together and help. All monies are tax-deductible as we are a registered non-profit. We can supply fliers or poster designs. Learn about our organization! Contact us! Thank You!
