Field Support Engineer

*This position can be located in either Baton Rouge, LA or in New Orleans, LA and will cover South Louisiana. The position will require at least 50% travel primarily within South Louisiana.
The Field Support Engineer is responsible for providing field services to support the installation, start-up, maintenance and operation of automation control systems, drive systems, manufacturing systems, industrial networks and the individual products which comprise these systems. The Field Support Engineer requires minimal day-to-day supervision and direction, and frequently works independently to optimize work activities and revenue generation while providing field service support for our customers.

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONSo BS in Engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge.
o Typically up to five years of experience in control, information or automation system integration or field service.
o Experience with AC/DC drives
o Must be able to work in a stressful environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged.
o Must have excellent conflict resolution skills.
o Must be available and willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays to meet customer project commitments.
o Must perform duties in the office as part of a project team.
o Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial plants, ships, offshore platforms, etc., which may require climbing and other unusual work environments.
o Must be a self starter and motivated to assist sales in creating new sales opportunities for both him/herself and Rockwell Automation.
