Assistant Area Development Director

The United Negro College Fund is seeking an Assistant Area Development Director for Central & Northern Florida, who will assist the Area Development Director (ADD) in conducting comprehensive, cost-effective annual fund-raising campaigns to support the member institutions of the United Negro College Fund, Inc. (UNCF). Works in concert with the ADD to plan, organize and implement fund-raising campaigns from various sources including corporations, foundations, special events and individuals; assists in the development and submission of solicitation proposals, including the design and implementation of special fund-raising events; organizes volunteers and volunteer groups to assist with special events; solicits in person or by proposal gifts from volunteers and selected prospects; assists in developing and preparing campaign materials, communication/promotional programs in support of local fund-raising efforts; ensures that accurate donor records are maintained; assists in managing the area office to ensure compliance with UNCF policies, procedures, rules and regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and at least 3-5 years experience in fund-raising, marketing or public relations. Demonstrated knowledge and ability in conducting major fund-raising activities, including annual giving drives. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations and develop proposals or concept papers. Outstanding interpersonal and managerial skills; demonstrated initiative; strong organizational skills; and ability to work on various projects simultaneously. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
